My boyfriend and I have been going out for 9 months. I am 21 and he is 25. I am spending Christmas with his family this year and I have a question about gifts. Is it okay that I only give my boyfriend 1 present for Christmas? 3 days later it's going to be his birthday and I am giving him another present. Anyway the reason why I am asking if it's okay to give him 1 present for Christmas and 1 present for his birthday because I feel really weird about it...Would it look better to his family and to him if I gave him 2 presents for Christmas and 2 presents for his birthday? Or 2 presents for Christmas and 1 for his birthday? Sorry if I sound weird I am just feeling a little pressured because we are going to be doing gift opening with his parents and I just don't want it to seem weird that I only gave him 1 present. And are these good presents to give? He really wants a 24 inch 90 degree rotating monitor so I was thinking of giving him that for Christmas and a Ronix hat that he really likes. And for his birthday I was thinking of getting him basketball shorts and a t-shirt from his favorite basketball team since he really likes them.

I think that sounds fine as long as it's a meaningful gift and you spent an appropriate amount on it, and it sounds like you have some great ideas in mind. I would only say buy more gifts if you had only bought something small or cheap, but your ideas sound very thoughtful.

It sounds fine! It sounds like you clearly put a lot of thought into this! Don't even worry about what his family thinks! (:

It's the thought that counts

I agree with the first answer. 1 meaningful gift that will be appreciated and or needed ( ex: hat or monitor) is better than 20 boxes of underwear no body wants. Besides some people are hard to shop for and there's a lot more gifting opportunities coming up like his birthday or an anniversary whatever it may be that you may want to present an awesome gift for. Dont blow all your ideas at once and above all don't go broke doing it.
