My family (mom, dad, sister (22) and brother (18) my husband and myself) have decided that this year for Christmas we aren't going to give eachother gifts. We want to do something as a family after our Christmas Eve meal in place of the gift opening, but we are at a loss at what to do. Something memorable and fun. Any ideas?

Go to a park where they are having a lights display and a big tree. I always love bundling up in a coat and getting out in the cold during Christmas.

If you don't want to do that, just make a fire in the fireplace, serve food, and play games, watch movies, and talk with your family, after all, that is the best thing about Christmas, family.

Go to Candllight Services at Church, and then drive around and look at the Christmas Lights...go back home and put in a Christmas Movie, and have Sodas and Pop-corn or play a Board game together or Cards...or go Caroling as a family...these days it is seldom that we get Carolers at the door.....possibly adopt a needy family and wrap their gifts....sneak them to the door and knock or ring the bell...our company used to do this....and make a big sign that says Merry Christmas, love Santa...it's really a good feeling when they open their door and find gifts that they didn't know about. Include the mother and father also, and you might also do a Christmas Dinner Certificate......almost everyone knows someone who is really struggling......Good Luck, hopes this helps!

Maybe go to Disney World for 2 days. Magic Kingdom looks awesome at Christmas time.

one x-mas my 1 brother, 4 sisters and few assorted relatives after dinner, went around the house looking for anything that would make noise like a musical instrument,, pots and pans , wooden spoons, harmonica, small drum etc. mind you none of us are great singers or musicians, but we went to our local nursing home and walked in the door each making noise and we sang a few x-mas carols, and got the old folks singing, and they LOVED it. never in a million years did i ever think that we could be capable of doing such a spur of the moment thing. we had great fun. the old folks thanked us so much, and the nurses were grateful too. remember alot of the old folks never get any company. you could tell they were happy for a little entertainment. good luck.
