If she is between 3-4 I'd say let her believe in Santa, but if she is between 5-6 she may hear differently from her school mates and this could be confusing to her. Perhaps you could tell her this way. No honey there's no such thing as a real Santa. But there is such a thing as love, your parents and I love you deeply and we want to have the same spirit like Santa to buy you gifts at Christmas that would make you happy. Santa is a fairytale of make believe. It is fun sometimes to think of him as real. You can believe in him if you want to. But Christmas isn't just about getting presents. It is a celebration of Jesus' birthday. That's what Christmas represents. Go ahead and tell her all about Jesus, it's never too early or too late to tell her or anyone about Him. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.



You tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest man that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding. No Santa Claus! Thank GOD! He lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
