Santa really seems to take precedence over Jesus these days, what with the scurrying to shop and wish lists for toys and cars and every year a new game console. When did santa become mightier than Jesus?

Really?
Christmas is a collection of pagan and ancient rites such as the midwinter festival. In ancient times there would have been produce, charms and other things on sale during the festivities.
Christianity actually has no connection to Christmas at all. The church tried to hijack Christmas to stop other religions using it. IF Jesus was indeed born then depending on how calenders are interpreted and the quotes in the bible then it would have been between March and July.
Truth is Christmas is a multi cultural and happy event for all.
Great mirth can be had watching Christians ignore the true birthday of their Savior to worship pagan festivals!!!!!!

Christmas is all about how YOU celebrate it and your own family traditions. Don't lose sight of the real meaning.
