I dont want this to sound too sexual, but if you dont want to spend any money, you could plan a big night.....cook a meal, something romantic (you can find ideas on the internet). Wear something sexy while you eat. Maybe buy some lingerie (if you dont have any, you can buy something cheap that still looks good) light some candles in the bedroom, and let it go from there

Classically, the first anniversary is the paper anniversary. While that doesn't sound that exciting, you may want to consider getting a really nice stationary set, especially if he has an office. Or depending on what his interests are, you could get a number of books on the subjects. There's also the idea of getting something for the two of you, maybe an interest bearing bond for your future children.
The best would be concert tickets to your favorite venue. You could also parlay that into a full night out, dinner et al.
Anyway, good luck and have fun! And congratulations!

For mine and my fiancee's one year anniversary I gave him a set of earrings and a necklace and he gave me a night at the Ramada with out the kids and a diamond wedding ring. So, I would say take him some where quiet for the night and spoil him we also had a jacuzze in the room but, that is all I am gonna say.

No toys! Let him get those on his own. Go to Victoria Secret, get some "play time" things, and surprise him with your "unreasonable" behavior. Like do it in a bathroom in a restaraunt... So, instead of buying toys, you become a toy yourself for that day. Not a bad idea, huh?

Take him on a nice weekend gateway. It does not have to be somewhere far or expensive. I am sure he will apprecite it wherever you go and that it will be something he will never forget. Happy Anniversary!

Get him something he's been hinting for. Listen for things like, "man, that's really nice", or "I sure would like to have one of those", or "I need some new____". That way, if he doesn't like it, you can say "Hey, I heard you say you wanted one the other day". And you don't have to feel bad about it.

I think you need to talk to him about doing something special together. It's not like his birthday! LOL
