How can i get to sleep on christmas eve?

Every year i hate christmas eve because i cant sleep, im 13 (i know it sounds pathetic) but im allways way to excited to get to sleep. please be serious ive had answers saying hide in the room and watch your parents put them in there... please nothing silly like that

-Clean your house/room on Christmas Eve or

-Bake cookies

-Have a marathon videogame/movie-watching session

-Watch the channel on TV that shows the inside of Congress (LOL)

-Do some exercise

-Turn off all the lights and TV in your room and lay in bed with your eyes closed thinking that you have school the next day

-Read an exciting book (NOT about Christmas)

-Relax with some music (NOT Christmas Carols)

Take a warm shower or bath - Have some hot cocoa or sleepy time tea before bed - (the hot milk has an ingredient that relaxes you) Take some Tylenol PM or Benadryl - put on a CD of Christmas Carols - make sure your bed is toasty - and crawl in to listen to the night noises. Don't try to get to sleep - just plan to lay awake all night and listen to the nosies in the house and outside. The more your try the harder it is. If sleep comes great if not - you can take a nap Christmas afternoon.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!



1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.



2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

I know how you feel. Watch tv with the lights turned off and during commercials try to sleep. Go on the computer with the lights turned off and it will get you really tired. I always try doing that and I still fall asleep later than I usually do! But it does get me tired. You should put on comfortable pajamas and find a good spot to sleep on in your bed.

I know how it feels... right now its eleven p.m. and i am worrying about what i will get. Anyway to answer your question here are a list of results that I hope will help:

1.) Think about something that intrests you

2.) While sleeping think of some boring thing like congress or school. (The school one was a jk!!) Listen to some music that you like in your mind (IDK if that is possible but it works for me!)

1. Don't drink anything with caffeine or any soda.

2. Before you go to sleep, think of a random question to think about while trying to sleep.

3. Close your eyes and try to answer that question while trying to sleep.



If that doesn't work, try this:



1. While trying to sleep, think about the things you'll get and do on Christmas morning.



If That Doesn't work, do this:



1. Think about something that makes you really happy. That'll get u to sleep!

haha i know how you fill im 16 and cant get to sleep to but last year ihad no problem what i did was on the 23 i stayed up all night on the 24 i played football basketball and ran all day andate big meals and did not drink any soadsand aroun 9:30 i was sleep and did not wake up till 7

You could always get up early on the 24th. Like a couple hours early. Get some things done to keep busy all day. Go running or anything to wear you out! Then you will get tired early and want to go to bed.



If all else fails......Take some pm meds!

lol me to ! But, what i do is whatch tv before i go to bed and have your room nice and warm ( THAT MAKES U SLEEP BETTER ) ALSO THE DAY BEFORE christmas make sure you are very active this way ur body will want to wind down and go to sleep. Also if ur allowed candles/air fresheners help relax u + if u have the sleep stuff from bath and body works it relaxes u and makes u go 2 bed

just read a book, relax. Drink some warm milk/cocoa before bed. Get into extra cozy PJ's and reeelax! u have to fall asleep eventually!

Ha... lol... Okay, well, I'm kinda the same here (only a few more days *squeal*). Hmm... I guess just force yourself to. I mean, you don't want to ruin the surprise, right? Just think that it'll come before you know it. Taking a Benadryl will always help. Just kidding :) Hope you get what you want. Happy Holidays.

burn some nice incence just before you go to bed. follow your usual scedual and when you go to bet shut your eyes and don't open then no matter what. drink as little as posible before bed eccept maby a mug of warm milk so you will hopefully not have to get up to pee and you will fall asleep alot easyer.

Take some cold medicine that makes you drowsy. When I was a teenager, my mom would give me a teaspoon of Nite Quill when I couldn't sleep.

Start watching tv. in the afternoon and take sleeping pills around 6. only one make sure it is not strong. if tv dose not work the pills will.
